F-Series Enclosures
Every F-Series instrument is supplied with an enclosure suitable for typical industrial environments, including Intrinsic Safety. The enclosures are made of aluminum or GRP, where the field mount enclosure provides an ingress protection of IP67 / NEMA4X and the panel mount enclosure provides an ingress protection of IP65 / NEMA4.

Various types of enclosures are available for hazardous and safe area applications. The enclosures have recently been redesigned with a new keyboard and sealing to make them suitable for even the most harsh envirionments and to improve operation. All enclosures have stainless steel screws. The aluminum enclosures are painted with a high quality UV stabilized two component industrial paint. The GRP enclosures (Glass-fiber Reinforced Polyamide) are UV stabilized and offer V0 accoording to UL94. New stainless steel accessories are available for wall and pipe mounting of the field enclosures.

For hazardous area installation where an explosion-proof enclosure is required, an EExd enclosure is available certified in accordance with ATEX II 2 GD EEx d IIB T5.

Panel mounting
The F-Series panel mount enclosure can be used for panels with a thickness up to 4mm (0.16"). For thicker panels, bolts with a proper length have to be used. The major advantage of using the F-Series as a panel mount unit is the minimum depth clearance required. This allows a small box being used compared to many other panel mount devices.

Mounting the panel mount enclosure
  1. The panel cut-out can be rectangular where the four bolts will be located in the corners
  2. The enclosure can be mounted with the supplied stainless steel bolts, O-rings, washers and nuts.
  3. When the F-Series is mounted in the cabinet, the thick silicon gasket assures proper sealing to IP65 / NEMA4.

Wall mounting
The F-Series field mount enclosure can be fitted onto the wall in two possible ways: with and without a mounting plate. Proper screws or bolts have to be used as the weight of the aluminum enclosure is about 1 kg and the weight of the GRP enclosure is about 0.5 kg.

Stainless steel wall mounting kit

The stainless steel wall mounting kit (accessory ACF02) makes the installation much easier. The kit includes a mounting plate with a large position to fix a tagplate with 3mm (0.11") screws and two properly fixed M6 stainless steel bolts with nuts and washers.

Wall mounting with a mounting plate
  1. To place the mounting plate on the wall, two to four holes have to be drilled horizontally and/or vertically, suitable for 5mm (0.2") srews or bolts.
  2. The field enclosure provides aditional room right above the four holes, so the bolt heads can sink completely into the rear cover.
  3. Simply place the unit and fix it with the two stainless steel washers and M6 nuts provided.
Wall mount installation
 
Pipe mounting
The F-Series enclosures can be mounted on any horizontal or vertical pipe from 50mm (2") diameter with the stainless steel pipe mounting kit (accessory ACF05).
The kit includes a mounting plate, a pipe mounting bracket, three M5 bolts and two properly fixed M6 stainless steel bolts with nuts and washers. On the top of the mounting plate, a space is provided to place a tagplate with 3mm (0.11") screws.
Proper clamps to mount the bracket on the pipe are available in 4 different sizes and must be ordered separately for your specific pipe size (see worm gear clamp accessories ACF06, ACF07, ACF08 and ACF09). These stainless steel worm gear clamps are very well capable of handling the larger weight of the mouting kit in combination with the enclosure. For the aluminum enclosure the total weight is about 1.4 kg; for the GRP enclosure the total weight is about 0.9 kg.

Pipe mounting
  1. The pipe mounting kit includes three stainless steel M5 bolts to fix the pipe mounting bracket horizontally or vertically on the mounting plate.
  2. When assembled, the part can easily be fixed on the pipe with stainless steel worm gear clamps.
  3. Simply place the unit and fix it with the two stainless steel washers and M6 nuts provided.
