Span Calculation example General purpose
In this instruction video we assume that a temperature sensor generates a minimum signal of 4mA at a temperature of -100.00°C
and a maximum signal of 20mA at a temperature of 250.00°C. The measurement unit is set to °C with 2 decimals for an accurate reading in the display.
Warning: Changing the decimals (afterwards) will also effect the span and offset.
Span calculation example with a negative offset (instruction video):
When the offset is a negative value, it must be added to the span value.
The span is set to 250.00 + 100.00 = 350.00 with an offset of -100.00.
Span calculation example with a positive offset:
When the offset is positive value, it must be it must be subtracted from the span value.
The span is set to 250.00 - 20 = 230.00 with an offset of 20.00.
